About This Training

The CRPA & CARC Foundational Training Bundle includes all three core foundational trainings in one package: the 30-Hour Recovery Coach Academy, 16-Hour Ethics Training, and 4-Hour Medication Supported Recovery Training.


Together, these courses provide 50 hours of foundational education focused on recovery coaching skills, ethical practice, person-centered support, and medication supported recovery. The bundle is designed for participants completing the foundational training pathway for CRPA and CARC certification requirements and offers a convenient way to register for all three required trainings together.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training bundle, participants will be able to:

  • Define the recovery coach role, responsibilities, scope of practice, and professional boundaries.

  • Apply core peer recovery values, person-centered principles, and multiple pathways of recovery.

  • Use effective communication, active listening, and trust-building strategies in recovery support relationships.

  • Recognize stages of change and use strengths-based approaches to support individualized recovery goals.

  • Use lived experience and self-disclosure intentionally, ethically, and appropriately.

  • Practice cultural humility and recognize the impact of power, privilege, and individual identity in recovery support.

  • Apply ethical standards and structured decision-making tools to real-world recovery coaching situations.

  • Develop and support individualized recovery and wellness plans, including practical goal-setting strategies.

  • Explain Medication Supported Recovery using recovery-oriented, non-stigmatizing language and recognize it as a valid pathway of recovery.

  • Maintain appropriate peer scope when discussing medications while supporting informed choice, autonomy, and self-determination.

  • Recognize and challenge stigma related to medication supported recovery.

  • Apply advocacy and shared decision-making strategies that strengthen recovery capital and support person-driven recovery.
