About This Training
Medication Supported Recovery (MSR) is a 4-hour training designed for CRPA, and CARC candidates to build awareness of medications used in substance use disorder recovery while centering peer ethics, person-centered practice, and multiple pathways of recovery. This training emphasizes the peer recovery professional’s role in supporting individuals who use, consider, or choose not to use medication as part of their recovery, without providing clinical guidance or medical advice.
Participants will explore recovery-oriented language, stigma and bias, shared decision-making, ethical boundaries, and collaboration with treatment providers. The training reinforces autonomy, advocacy, harm reduction principles, and recovery capital while remaining clearly within the scope of peer recovery support. Emphasis is placed on non-judgmental engagement, informed choice, and supporting individualized recovery goals in diverse settings and stages of recovery.
